Jenna Higginson - Senior Young Advisor
Children & Young People
Hi, as it says above im Jenna. I have been a Young Advisor for nearly 2 years and i really enjoy the work that i get involved in as part of the YA team. I sit on the Children & Young Peoples Thematic Group, through my local Neighbourhood Management Pathfinder, where i represent local Young Peoples views in relation to issues in our local community. I also sit on on the neighbourhood Management Pathfinder Board as a Resident Board Member. I have worked locally, regionally and nationally as part of my role, which has been a great experience!
I became a YA so i could gain valuble experience to help me qualify as a Youth Worker in the future. As well as this i also wanted to improve my confidence levels....and can happily say that this has happened :D...i really enjoy what i do in the local community, and hope i carry on doin so :D
Jordan Griffiths
Community Safety
Hi, im Jord and i have been a Young Advisor since September 2008 after completing my training in the summer. The time i have spent as a Young Advisor so far has really opened my eyes to what is going on in the local community, and has made me eager to fix the problems that we have, and make the area a nicer place. I sit on the Community Safety Thematic Group, and act as a voice for young people to get my opinions across, and take feedback from the group.
I wanted to become a Y.A because i wanted to find out the pro's and con's about our local area, and get involved with making the area a safer place to live. In the future i hope to continue in this area of work, and study to become a Primary School teacher.
Lee Lundy
Health / Jobs Skills & Training
Hi, I’m Lee and as it says I’m the Health Young Advisor. I became a YA back in January 2007 and did my training at Trafford Hall (Chester). I've really enjoyed my time as a YA and it has brought me some of the skills and abilities I have today. I've also had a massive confidence boost and I have done work, locally, regionally and nationally. I was on the planning team for the National Young Advisor Carnival, I presented at the Northern Regions Conference and I co-chaired the Northwest councilors 'How To' Conference.
I couldn’t really tell you why I became a Young Advisor, but It’s been one of the best experiences ever and now that I’ve become so involved in the community, I don’t think I could go back!
