Young Advisors

Tranmere and Rock Ferry Young Advisors

Case Studies

Over the last 18 months the Tranmere & Rock Ferry Young Advisor scheme have been involved in many different projects and have completed a lot of work. Below is details of some of the work they have completed.

2009/10

Commissioning Pack

After months of hard work, the commissioning pack is finally finished! After being given the idea and a basic outlay buy our lead, we then expanded on the information given to us and made it more aphetically pleasing.

Once we had put in all the information about who we are, what we can do, what we have done and the commissioning and evaluation forms, we decided to add some examples, to prove that we can deliver. Also we decided to localise it and make it more our own by adding pictures to it.

Finally, once we had the finished product, we got the front cover designed; we wanted something that wasn't a boring piece of white paper. We wanted something that would stand out on you desk, something impressive and that would make you want to read it, something professional but young too.

If we have impessed you so far, whay not use the link below to download the pack and see for yourself

2008/09

Wirral Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership Comunity Engagement Plan

Across Wirral, Merseyside Police are looking for ways to make sure local residents can have their say and help to address issues of community safety and crime reduction.

We are actively involved in this process in our neighbourhood, and have now been invited to represent the views and opinions of children & young people from across Wirral at the Borough Community Enagement Group.

We'll be the first young people to do this, and cant wait to get stuck in!!

Launch Event

We held an event at our local Community Hall to let people know what we do, how we can help and let everyone know what we've got in store for the future.

The event was attended by Merseyside Police, the Head of Wirral Council's Youth Service, Outreach Youth Workers, Voluntry, Community & Faith representatives, Neighbourhood Management, Extended Schools Coordinator, local Councillors and the Mayor of Wirral Cllr Adrian Jones, who presented us with our training & ASDAN certificates.

Leslie Silverlock also came up for the day to let our guests know more about YAs nationally and relevent policy and strategy outcomes that we're helping deliver on!

Recruitment

Early Summer 2008 saw us recruit and train new members of the team.

The new guys completed their training with ease, and are now enthusiastically getting involved with local issues, groups and consultation!

So keep your eyes out for them in the area!
